Casa de Esperanza’s Gala Raises a Record-breaking Million Dollars: On April 22, Casa De Esperanza de los Niños held their annual gala at the Hobby Center to celebrate their 30th Anniversary. Over 600 guests attended the auction and dinner with food donated, as it has been for the last 23 years by Cordua Restaurants. Over a million dollars was raised at the event.

Casa de Esperanza de los Niños—the House of Hope for Children—is a safe place for children in crisis due to abuse, neglect, or the effects of HIV. Casa de Esperanza provides residential, medical, and psychological care according to the needs of each child. The goal of Casa de Esperanza is to return physically and emotionally healthy children to stabilized homes where caregivers can safely provide daily care.

Singing for Hope On April 10, Bering Omega Community Services kicked off their Sing for Hope Gala with a charity art auction at the offices of Dentiq Dentistry. The gala has become an annual tradition for the last 18 years. This year’s co-chairs, Jeff Gremillion and Jared Lang, and attendees enjoyed music performed by  Kristine Mills and Sing for Hope Artists, with catering hosted by Hawthorn. The event also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Bering Oral Health Clinic and featured artists Kelley Devine, Taft McWhorter, Morris Malakoff, Hanh Tran, and David Adickes.
