SUGAR LAND, FORT BEND COUNTY – At the Fort Bend LGBT Political Caucus (FBLGBTPC) monthly meeting, board members were voted on to serve for 2011. Fiona Dawson, 2010 president announced that due to personal and work commitments she is to move back into Harris County, therefore in accordance with the Caucus by-laws, cannot remain as President. However, as there are places for up to two non-Fort Bend residents on the Caucus board, she was voted on to serve in an at-large position. Ms. Dawson said, “I firmly believe in the necessity and value of the Caucus in Fort Bend and will continue to volunteer to see its efficacy as far as I can.”
Fort Bend LGBT Political Caucus 2011 board members are as follows:
Januari Leo, President

Incoming President Januari Leo said she looks forward to the following year and growing the organization, “Although there are many enthusiastic supporters and people willing to come to events and volunteer on committees, there remain a few board positions vacant.” Leo said. “The FBLGBTPC is eager to spread the word that leadership opportunities await to help eliminate prejudice, violence, and injustice against lesbian, gay bisexual, and transgender people through education, activism, and political advocacy.” Leo added.
A strategic planning retreat is being set for a few weeks time after which an announcement will be made of the year’s plans. Regular meetings occur on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm at a chosen venue in Fort Bend county.
