Chairlift: Moth

2 ChairliftNamed one of Billboard’s “Albums to Get You Amped for 2016,” Moth is an openhearted pop-influenced album that has been entrancing new listeners while delighting longtime fans. The 10-song album includes the much-lauded single “Ch-Ching,” as well as the catchy follow-up track, “Romeo,” both of which were named “Best New Music” by Pitchfork. In early 2013, Chairlift (Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly) were approached by Beyoncé to collaborate on her self-titled album. What landed on the record was “No Angel,” a breathy R&B jam written and produced by Polachek and coproduced by Wimberly. Experimenting with their sound in this new context opened up their writing process and helped broaden their scope as they set out to make Moth. Columbia Records (columbiarecords.com).  Suzie Lynde
