We Always Lie to Strangers
Dubbed “the live-music capital of the world,” Branson, Missouri, is a major tourist attraction and a multi-billion-dollar entertainment industry known for putting on over 100 staged music shows. Directors AJ Schnack and David Wilson spent five years documenting the remote town and profiling four different families who are a part of these many performances. One of these families is a gay couple, Chip Holderman and Ryan Walton, who find it difficult being openly gay in a religious town. Available June 3 from Virgil Films (virgilfilmsent.com). —Jed Ocot
