Officials investigate cyberbullying of 9 Iowa kids
Authorities are investigating the cyberbullying of nine children who attend Urbandale Middle School.
Des Moines television station KCCI says the anonymous bullying attacks showed up on a social media website but have since been taken down.
The account under the name “ums8thgrad” had posted pictures of the nine students. The posting included comments about the students’ looks and weight, said one student was gay and made fun of another student because her father had died of cancer.
School officials turned the case over to police. District Superintendent Doug Stilwell says the district can’t do much until it finds out who posted the remarks.
