John Bostick filed the lawsuit May 17 in Tampa. He was hired by Cracker Barrel in 2008 a manager trainee and worked at one of the company’s restaurants in Bradenton, Fla.

Bostick’s lawsuit says he experienced harassment and discrimination because of his sexual orientation, including one instance when an associate manager told other staff that a customer might be “afraid he’ll catch AIDS” from Bostick.

Bostick says he told superiors about the harassment and they didn’t take action.

In court documents filed July 21, Cracker Barrel denied the allegations. A spokeswoman for Cracker Barrel said Monday that she couldn’t comment on pending litigation.
