Romney Reaffirms View on Same-Sex Marriage
Republican Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was caught in a spirited debate over gay marriage this morning in New Hampshire.
ABC News reported that when asked by Bob Garon, 63, whether he supports the repeal of the New Hampshire same-sex marriage law, which is being pursued by Republican legislators, Romney replied that he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.
“It’s good to know how you feel, that you do not believe everyone is entitled to their constitutional rights,” the New Hampshire resident responded.
“No, actually I think at the time the Constitution was written it was pretty clear marriage was between a man and a woman,” Romney said.
The former Mass. governor, which is considered a top contender for the nomination at the GOP primaries which start in a month.
