March 17, 2011 — A life coach with 35 years of experience in recovery training and education will launch a five-week series of workshops at the Houston GLBT Community Center (1900 Kane) beginning on Monday, April 4. The life coach, Karlos Albañil, will offer the workshops on five consecutive Monday evenings at 7 p.m. through May 2. There is no charge to participate in the workshops.
The workshops are developed to helping individuals recover from life transitions, including relationship breakup, job loss, death of a loved one, substance abuse, gender reorientation, HIV diagnosis, or the move from college, the military, or prison. Participants will gain information on evaluating boundaries, perspectives, values, and culture. Each session is informational, followed by questions and voluntary participant sharing.
Individuals are encouraged to participate in all five workshops. Life Recovery is a new program of the Houston GLBT Community Center.
The Houston GLBT Community Center is home base for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and allies in the metropolitan area and southeast Texas.
