What a drag!
There is still time to vote online for your favorite contestant in what is sure to be America’s most fabulous reality show, RuPaul’s Drag Race. The Supermodel of the World serves as host, mentor, and judge for the series, set to debut in early 2009 on Logo. At press time, there were 50 competitors from Texas. The seven from the Houston/Galveston area include the local diva Isis Champagne (her tag line: “If it doesn’t sparkle it isn’t Champagne”). Details: www.logoonline.com, www.rupaulsdragrace.com.

What a MYSTERY!
Chad Allen returns on July 25 as gay detective Donald Strachey in the third installment of his mystery series, On the Other TVChadHand, Death, on here! TV. In the latest episode, Strachey is investigating local hate crimes. Besides openly gay star Allen, the highlight is the performance by the always-welcome Margot Kidder, portraying half of a threatened lesbian couple. Allen can also be seen later this year in Save Me, a drama in which he stars as young gay man committed to an ex-gay compound. The 2007 Sundance and Outfest hit is scheduled for a September theatrical release. Details: www.heretv.com. • On stage, Allen performs with Valerie Harper in the world premiere production of Looped, a play about Tallulah Bankhead, at the Pasadena Playhouse through August 3.
