Students Engaged in Advancing Texas (SEAT) brought its “Party at the Polls” to the University of Houston’s main campus on October 20, combining voter engagement with live entertainment as early voting continued across Texas.

The event, presented as part of SEAT’s statewide Campus Freedom Tour, encouraged students to participate in the 2026 midterm election while creating a celebratory atmosphere around the voting process. Houston performers Shookarena and PURPLE took part in the event, bringing music and drag performance to the campus gathering.

SEAT described its Campus Freedom Tour as a nonpartisan initiative featuring activations at more than 20 Texas college campuses, many located near campus polling locations. The organization said the tour was designed to engage young Texans around voting and issues affecting students across the state.
