Inaugural Texas Transgender Summit seeks to ‘transform health through dialogue’

Addressing the intersection Houston’s gender diverse community with their health needs, “Transforming Health through Dialogue”, the first annual Texas Transgender Health Summit, is scheduled July 19 at University of Houston Clear Lake. A collaboration among the Transgender Education Network of Texas, University of Houston Clear Lake, LHI Houston, the Texas Transgender Nondiscrimination Summit, and Transgender Foundation of America, the day presents professionals, advocates, activists, educators, and clients discussing real solutions to real problems challenging the health of Texas’ transgender communities, organizers say.

The day’s events include presentation by Transgender Foundation of America’s Lou Weaver; Jay Mays, co-creator of The Gender Book; Lesbian Health Initiative Houston chief executive officer Liz James, and others.
