Over the decades, composer/lyricists and masters of imagery Marilyn and Alan Bergmann have supplied Streisand with her top hits, like “The Way We Were,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” “Papa, Can You Hear Me?” and others. Here she serves up the duo’s Academy Award-winners previously recorded by other superstars, like the impossibly complex “The Windmills of Your Mind,” an ultra-smooth version of Sinatra’s “Nice ’n’ Easy,” and Astaire’s “That Face.” For diehard fans, a second CD, included in the deluxe edition, also includes those aforementioned Streisand hits.
