Ariz. Education Superintendent to Address Bullying

PHOENIX – Arizona Superintendent of Education John Huppenthal has agreed to sit down with gay rights activists to discuss bullying of gay students in school districts across the state.

Huppenthal’s spokesman Andrew LeFevre says the education chief will meet with members of Equality Arizona, a Phoenix-based nonprofit, that advocates for gay rights.

Equality Arizona executive director Nick Ray tells The Arizona Republic they’re grateful to Superintendent Huppenthal for agreeing to sit down and discuss their concerns.
