Red Rhapsody is a celebration of equity, diversity and inclusion. Eleven colleges at the University of Houston have partnered to invite the Houston community to support UH LGBTQ+ students at this annual fundraiser. Attendees will have the chance to hear scholarship recipients share their stories, mingle with fellow LGBTQ+ allies, and enjoy a casual evening of wine and light bites. Launched in 2019 by the UH College of Education and inspired by the LGBTQ Alumni Association’s annual Red Dinner gala, Red Rhapsody aims to provide additional support to UH students who have been financially affected as a result of their sexual orientation, or gender or identity expression. All proceeds from Red Rhapsody ticket sales benefit the LGBTQ Alumni Association Emergency Crisis Fund, which provides scholarships to LGBTQ+ students at the University of Houston. Red Rhapsody is co-sponsored by UH’s College of Architecture, College of Optometry, College of Technology, Cullen College of Engineering, C.T. Bauer College of Business, Graduate College of Social Work, Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, Honors College, Law Center and Libraries.
