FAHM Fest

Sunday, October 16, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

On Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., POST HTX plays host to the inaugural FAHM Fest, a market boasting over thirty local chefs, vendors, and various creators coming together to celebrate Filipino American History Month.

James Beard Award Winning Chef, Paul Qui, of Soy Pinoy, East Side King, and more, joined forces with Chef Gabriel Medina of Click Virtual Food Hall, winner of CultureMap Tastemaker’s Best Neighborhood Restaurant to bring together fellow chef friends to showcase their culture for Filipino American History Month. The two teamed up with Have a Nice Day HTX, a local pop-up market series known for featuring AAPI small businesses.

They put out a call for Friends and “FAHM” and invited both Filipino chefs and non-Filipino chefs to feature their favorite renditions of Filipino food. “This event is for everyone. It’s a way to celebrate our Filipino culture and invite others to the table to do the same,” said Chef Gabriel. “We just wanted to bring the city together and invite them into our community and experience the food that’s so special to us,” said Chef Paul.

Featured vendors include Josh DeLeon of Underground Creamery as well as his brother Sean DeLeon of Neo and his Filipino skewer pop up Kano. FAHM Fest will also feature Top Chef finalist Evelyn Garcia of Kin, Emmanuel Chavez of Tatemo, Nina Canete of Alengnina’s, Jai Duque of Ube Co., Dumpling Haus, the Heights staple owned and operated by a mother-daughter duo, and many more!

Collaborative FAHM Fest merch will be sold at the event as well. Proceeds will benefit Kids’ Meals, an organization that’s very special to Chef Gabe Medina. They are a local charity making and delivering free, healthy meals to children around Houston.
