Houston Ballet concludes its Hometown Tour across the greater Houston area with the return of Swan Lake by Artistic Director Stanton Welch. Mr. Welch drew inspiration to reimagine the classic piece Swan Lake from the 1888 painting, The Lady of Shalott, by John William Waterhouse.

In this production, the everlasting love between Prince Siegfried and the maiden-turned-white-swan Odette is tested by the evil knight Rothbart and his black swan enchantress, Odile. Welch’s Swan Lake utilizes Tchaikovsky’s iconic score as arranged for this three-act production.

Houston Ballet Principal Yuriko Kajiya will lead the cast as Odette/Odile—a breakout role for this talented dancer.
