CA Councilman Changes Profile Pic on Gay Website

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif. – A Southern California city councilman has changed his profile image on an explicit gay dating website because the photo was taken during a council meeting.

Although the photo didn’t contain the city of Desert Hot Springs’ name or logo, 70-year-old Councilman Karl Baker tells the Palm Springs Desert Sun he switched the picture showing him in front of a microphone to one that doesn’t indicate he’s an elected leader.

Baker, who is single and openly gay, is running for a third term on the council. Three candidates are running for two open seats.

The photo was changed after he was asked about it during a KNEWS radio show last week.

Baker’s picture and profile is posted on a free online site for gay men seeking dates and sexual encounters.
