Mid Main celebrates the First Thursday season finale by benefitting The Station Houston, a local startup incubator, which has recently established its new organization as a non-profit that will manage the ION in the upcoming Innovation District. We are excited to welcome The Ion to the neighborhood, which will settle its roots in the former Sears building, following a remarkable renovation project of the original Art Deco building spearheaded by Rice University. This FREE music, art, and food block party takes place June 6, 2019 in the 3500-3700 blocks of Main Street.
This event will highlight the mission of the Station Houston by featuring some of their local start-up businesses, while continuing to showcase the unique creative spirit of the Mid Main Neighborhood, home to a variety of locally-owned bars, clubs, restaurants, boutiques, retailers, and Mid Main Lofts.
Bayou City Swing will hit the stage in the Art Garden along with music by DJ Ryan Savoie of St. Arnold Brewing Company. $5 suggested donations for entry are strongly encouraged and all proceeds benefit the Station Houston. Complimentary drinks will be provided by longtime supporters Saint Arnold Brewing Company and Deep Eddy Vodka.
In addition to the musical line-up, the businesses of Mid Main together with Urban Harvest will host an outdoor food market in Winbern Street featuring local makers and chefs serving an eclectic variety of gourmet fare for the public along with beer samplings compliments of Oasis Texas Brewing Company.
