Grand Opening: Las Perras Cafe & Flor y Miel Celebrate Culture, Coffee & Caribbean Flavors in Houston’s East End
April 12 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 pm
Free
Houston’s East End is welcoming an exciting new culinary and cultural hub as Las Perras Cafe, a Latina-owned coffee roaster and cafe, and Flor y Miel, a Latin Caribbean concept, officially open their shared storefront on April 12 in Houston’s Second Ward neighborhood.
Las Perras Cafe, founded by Andrea Arana, is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a space dedicated to bold flavors, storytelling, and celebrating Latina resilience. Their specialty drinks honor powerful women activists like Dolores Huerta, Angela Davis, and Alice Valdez, weaving history and empowerment into every cup.
Joining forces, Chef Flo of Flor y Miel brings her Dominican heritage to Houston’s food scene with vibrant, soulful dishes that have gained a loyal following since launching her food truck and restaurant. Now, these two Latina-owned businesses will operate under one roof, offering a unique fusion of specialty coffee, Caribbean cuisine, and community-driven programming.
The grand opening event on April 12 will feature:
All-day coffee menu by Las Perras Cafe
Brunch & dinner from Flor y Miel
Live music, DJs & performances
The unveiling of a new mural by local artist Ashley Raquel Trejo
A vendor market showcasing local businesses
