Engineering the Future of Civilization with Lord Browne

Tuesday, October 29, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Civilization is founded on engineering innovation. All progress stems from the human urge to make things and to shape the world around us, resulting in greater freedom, health and wealth for all.

This evening engineer, businessman, and former CEO of BP Lord Browne will give an impassioned defense of progress and innovation and an argument for social responsibility. Browne will show why engineering is the basis for all progress and its consequences–both good and bad–and remind us the same spark that triggers each innovation can be used to counter its negative consequence and can keep us moving towards a brighter future.

Lord Browne is author of the popular books “The Glass Closet: Why Coming Out Is Good Business” and “Seven Elements That Have Changed The World: Iron, Carbon, Gold, Silver, Uranium, Titanium, Silicon.”

A signed hard copy of Lord Browne’s new book “Make, Think, Imagine: Engineering the Future of Civilization” is included with your ticket.
