ADL’s Houston In Concert Against Hate: Many Voices, One City
Wednesday, April 4, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Houston in Concert Against Hate: Many Voices, One City presents the world-renowned Houston Symphony and moving stories of ADL’s work to combat hate and promote respect. This year we celebrate the global diversity of the City of Houston, acknowledge the struggles of its multicultural communities, and call on all of our supporters to join their voices in the fight against hate.
We have an evening of inspiring, innovative entertainment like nothing you’ve seen before planned to celebrate and honor the myriad contributions from five extraordinary individuals whose courage and leadership have done so much: AJ Durrani, a proponent for empowerment within the Muslim community, Judge Phyllis Frye, the nation’s first openly transgender judge and champion for the transgender community, Adrian Garcia, the former Harris County Sheriff who advocates for the rights of Latino and immigrant communities, and Al Tribble, who has dedicated 26 years of his career to fighting for all marginalized groups by thoroughly investigating hate crimes. Sister Jane Meyer of St. Agnes Academy will be awarded the Julie & Ben Rogers Ecumenism Award for her work in furthering greater harmony and cooperation in our communities.
