Members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Alliance at Penn State rallied together on the steps of Old Main for Valentines Day to hold the “Flaunt your sexuality Kiss-Out”. The event was held to exercise their privilege to enjoy public displays of affection. In the foreground Christy Merchant Kisses Katie Campbell, while Benjamin Holsinger kisses Ben Falter, a graduate student from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, in the background. Christy Merchant, President of Allies (a student organization at Penn State that encourages gay and lesbian rights and activism), said that the event was held because, â??Valentine’s Day is “the most hetero-normative day of the year.”
