AIDS Foundation Houston World AIDS Day 2020—A Virtual Experience presented by Chevron

AIDS Foundation Houston, Inc. (AFH) will host their annual World AIDS Day event as a virtual experience on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. The annual fundraiser, emceed this year by Houston Public Media’s Ernie Manouse, will support AFH in its mission to end the HIV epidemic in Houston and to provide education, testing, housing and supportive services to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. The 2020 World AIDS Day event will take place on Giving Tuesday and serves as an opportunity for those who connect with the AFH mission to contribute to the cause.

Shelby Hodge will present the 2020 Shelby Hodge Vision Award to Cleve Jones, HIV activist and founder of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. An interview between Cleve and Ernie Manouse will follow. Other speakers include Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Judge Lina Hidalgo, former Houston Mayor Annise Parker, fashion designer Mondo Guerra, Dr. Bruce Richmond and more. Event programming will also feature testimonials from AFH board members and client and performances from America’s Got Talent semi-finalist Christina Wells and iconic Houston drag superstar Dessie Love-Blake.
