A Place at the Table: Transitioning in the Workplace

Saturday, April 13, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

What happens when a fundamental, powerfully suppressed truth is finally spoken out loud? Join us for this ongoing series exploring LGBTQ+ identity.

For transgender and transsexual individuals, transitioning in the workplace presents its own unique set of challenges. We will discuss terminology, roles and responsibilities of the transitioning individual, workplace culture, and the importance of supportive friends or family members. This piece of the transition process is significant both for the long-term success and health of the individual in and outside of work and for the organization and its workforce.

Generously underwritten by Debbie Wernet.

She has led presentations and trainings for corporations, social service agencies, and educational institutions to promote healthy communication between the transgender population and the community at large.
