Understanding & Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior

Monday, February 17, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

BrightStar Care of Friendswood is hosting an educational program by the Alzheimer Assoc on Mon Feb 17th at 6:30 pm at 1560 W Bay Area Blvd, Ste 320 in Friendswood. Daily we see the impact to family and caregivers as their loved one loses the ability to communicate their needs and feelings as language is lost. This program will help decode the behavioral messages, identify the common behavior triggers and teach strategies to intervene some of the most common behavioral challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

At this time there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease. As our life expectancy extends, more and more families are living the “long good-bye” as their loved one loses connection to their children, grandchildren and their caregivers. Until there is a cure, we all need to learn how to communicate and stay connected when language is lost. This program will help those who don’t understand what has happened or how to meet the challenges of this disease.
