The Stars at Night Concert
Sunday, September 3, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Houston Pride Band presents a concert in conjunction with the annual conference of the Lesbian and Gay Band Association. Musicians from all over the country will converge to present an unforgettable evening of music. The title of the concert comes from a line of that famous song called “Deep in the Heart of Texas.” As vast and diverse as the heavens are above, so is the state of Texas… and Houston is no exception! Houston has been the most ethnically diverse large city in the United States for years. The concert is going to celebrate the rich diversity that Houston and Texas offers.
The concert begins at 7pm, but come early to see the pre-concert entertainment provided in the Grand Foyer by smaller ensembles starting at 6pm.
Admission is $25, taxes and fees included. More details coming soon!
If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation instead. The Houston Pride Band and LGBA are 501(c)(3) nonprofits and rely on your tax-deductible donations to operate. To sponsor our concert or conference, please visit https://houstonprideband.nationbuilder.com/lgba_2017_donation
The Houston Pride Band was formed by a small group of musicians in 1978 as a way to make new friends and provide entertainment for Houston’s gay and lesbian community. Originally known as the Montrose Marching Band, the band has grown through the years and now provides an annual season of concerts as well participating in the city’s annual Pride celebrations. Houston Pride Band is a member of the Lesbian and Gay Band Association (LGBA), a national musical organization made up of over twenty-five bands across the nation and around the world. Houston Pride Band has been selected to host the 2017 LGBA Conference, during which time representatives of member bands from all over the world will gather together for social events, master classes and performances.
