Unleash the unconscious, unveil the unexpected, and savor the surprise as the Menil Contemporaries invite you to celebrate the Menil Collection’s 30th anniversary at a Surreal Soirée.
Inspired by the Menil’s world-renowned collection of Surrealist art, the evening includes hors d’oeuvres by Jackson and Company and specialty cocktails, as well as the décor by Bergner and Johnson. Guests will enjoy dancing, photo booths, and face painting, as a nod to the legendary Surrealist ball hosted by Marie-Hélène de Rothschild in 1972. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to explore the galleries of the main Renzo Piano-designed museum building at the event.
Attire is black tie, but guests are encouraged to add Surrealist flair. Tickets are $250 for non-members and $200 for members. All ticket and sponsorship proceeds benefit the Menil Contemporaries Fund, a permanent endowment fund that supports the Menil’s neighborhood greening efforts and the preservation of the museum’s green spaces for future generations.
The Surreal Soirée is co-chaired by Saba Jawda, Sarah Jawda, and Olivia and Edward Persia.
