“A Smart, Entertaining Portrait of Emerging Adulthood”
— RACHEL WEINBERG, BROADWAY WORLD CHICAGO
Rec Room Arts presents a new comedy by one of the country’s finest emerging playwrights and winner of the Windham-Campbell Literature Prize for drama. In this regional premiere play, a year after his assumed death (and absence from social media), a millennial shows up in his former Chicago apartment alive, well, and ready to fix what went wrong with the people who have eulogized, memorialized, searched for, and mourned him. A miracle reunion turns into a catastrophic disaster as the past catches up with the present and old debts return, expecting payment in full. Join us for this razor-sharp, quick-witted, foul-mouthed, and dare we say, jaw-dropping 90 minute play that asks: “What does growin up even mean…and is it even desired in this day and age?”

WANNA SEE AN EXCERPT FROM THE SCRIPT? (Sure you do.)
what if you didn’t pay any more loans and you didn’t pay any more rent
What if you just left the cowardice to their kennels
And what if you didn’t go into work for 8 hours
and what if we just jumped on the first megabus outta here hit the road and didn’t look back
ever, ever, ever look back, what about that?
Just. You know. Hypothetically.
You’ve thought about it.
Just leaving it all.
Just getting up and leaving it all, you’ve thought / about it
Never in my / life
Every day since I was 12.
