BLUEorange is proud to present Itemized Accounts: You Can’t take It with You featuring the new photographs of Houston Artist Shannon Duncan.
This portrait series is an investigation of the weight given to inanimate objects. Each image documents a collaboration between the artist (Shannon Duncan) and her subject. In this collaboration, the subject brings items of personal value to Duncan’s studio. Together, they create an arrangement that conceals physical identity. Through the installation of handwritten text and photographic imagery, the viewer receives insight about the anonymous subject through their identified objects.
