NILMDTS Community Gathering
Thursday, April 25, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeWhile experiencing the loss of a baby is an unimaginable tragedy, one non-profit is on a mission to help parents heal through artful images. Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS) provides remembrance photography to parents suffering from the loss of a baby with a free gift of professional portraiture.
The grieving journey goes beyond remembrance photos — NILMDTS understands it takes a village for parents to know they are not alone on their grief journey. On Thursday, April 25, the organization will host a community gathering and special event meet and greet in Houston. Families, volunteers, donors and supporters have the chance to connect with NILMDTS Co-Founder, Cheryl Haggard, CEO Gina Harris, several board members and some senior volunteers to learn more about the organization.
The event will take place at Holiday Inn Houston Katy Mills in Katy, Texas on Thursday, April 25 at 6 p.m. The following special guests will be attending:
Cheryl Haggard, NILMDTS Co-Founder
Gina Harris, NILMDTS CEO
NILMDTS Board Members
NILMDTS Volunteers

About Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep: NILMDTS is a non-profit organization that trains, educates, and mobilizes professional quality photographers to provide beautiful remembrance photography to parents suffering from the loss of a baby with a free gift of professional portraiture. Professional-level photographers volunteer their time to conduct an intimate portrait session, capturing the only moments parents spend with their babies. Parents are gifted with delicately retouched heirloom black and white portraits free of charge. They believe these images serve as an important step in the family’s healing process by honoring the child’s legacy. The organization was founded in 2005 by Cheryl Haggard and Sandy Puc. Cheryl’s son Maddux Achilles Haggard was born on Feb. 4, 2005, with a condition called myotubular myopathy, preventing him from breathing, swallowing or moving on his own. After taking him off of life support, Cheryl knew she wanted professional images of Maddux that she could hang on her wall alongside the portraits of her other children. It was these tender photographs that inspired NILMDTS. Since 2005, the organization has gifted more than 40,000 free portrait sessions and has approximately 1,500 active photographers. NILMDTS is present in every U.S. state and in 40 countries worldwide.
