Neil deGrasse Tyson: “Cosmic Collisions”

Monday, January 15, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

3…2…1…BLAST OFF! Award-winning astrophysicist and author Neil deGrasse Tyson returns to Space City with a new lecture entitled “Cosmic Collisions”. The lecture will cover all the things that go bump in the night (and in the day). And yes, the universe wants to kill you: On occasion these collisions — asteroid & comet impacts on Earth, render life extinct. Learn why and how this happens, and what we are doing about it.

Over the years, Neil deGrasse Tyson has become America’s top astrophysicist and a pop culture icon. Tyson is the fifth head of the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship. He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.

In addition to dozens of professional publications, Tyson has written, and continues to write for the public. Tyson’s latest book, released in May 2017 is Astrophysics for People In A Hurry. This adorably readable book is an introduction to all that you’ve read, and heard about that’s making news in the universe — consummated, in one place, succinctly presented, for people in a hurry.

A limited number of VIP Meet & Greet tickets are available for this performance.
