Musiqa presents “American Trios!”

$25 – $50Musiqa, two-time winner of the Chamber Music America/ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming, presents “American Trios!” a program of four exhilarating works for three performers, by prominent American composers. On the program are John Harbison’s sparkling “Twilight Music”; Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Ellen Taafe Zwilich’s “Piano Trio” a mainstay of the contemporary chamber music; “Lonesome Roads” by Dan Visconti; and the world premiere of Musiqa composer Marcus Karl Maroney’s “Horn Trio” a self-described “labor of love,” inspired by the virtuosity and beauty of the horn trios of Ligeti and Brahms. In addition, Musiqa will screen the two top prize-winning short films from Houston Cinema Arts Society’s Cinespace Competition, “1950DA”, directed by Sébastian Tulard and “Music of the Spheres”, directed by Joe Bougher and Kohl Threlkeld.
