Matthew Kelly Debbaudt | Motion Pictures

Tuesday, August 1, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - Tuesday, August 29, 2017 @ 7:00 pm

OPENING RECEPTION: July 14th, 2017 6:00 – 9:00 PM BLUEorange is proud to present the epic telling of Motion Pictures, a “so low” show featuring the new drawings and paintings of Matthew Kelly Debbaudt.

“Rumor has it, that sometime in the year twenty fifteen, matthew kelly debbaudt’s imaginary penis was brutally severed at fingerprint by some kind of dark menacing demon. supposedly, the massive loss of blood catapulted him into a very deep coma. trapped in his own head, for some reason, he transformed into “KNOWBODY” — his no longer dormant superego imp.

KNOWBODY would only wear a box on his head and wold think only inside the box. locked in a bleak subconscious void, KNOWBODY follows the only thing there is to follow-a brick path extending in one direction to no end. as he journeys down this path of incomprehensible, sexless negativity and despair, he is eventually led to a giant monolithic “screen” (the place of sanctuary and solitude that would later become know as “KNOWHERE”, the city inside his mind). hypnotized and mesmerized by what looks to be a swarming, seething static of human forms colliding, separating and constantly shifting, KNOWBODY drew closer and closer and began to study and stare at it, for a very long time. he does not yet know that entering this “screen” will not only propel him out of his coma, but will also transform him into the vengeful, unstable, insatiable superhero, “MIMMER”, and this malevolent swarm will become his ultimate weapon, an army at his command.to be continued…”

Matthew Kelly Debbaudt grew up in Los Angeles, CA. He received his Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Davis in 2015. Debbaudt currently lives and works in Houston, TX.
