Let’s learn about important health topics in a simple and non-shaming way with a queer and trans focus. Come see what your other health classes left out!
We’re bringing food and fun learning! All you need to bring is yourself and friends!
Date: Every 3rd Thursday
Time: 6:00 PM – 8 PM
Location: 401 Branard, Room 114
Food served
Topic: Diabetes
In the following session, we’ll learn more about the basics of diabetes and how it impacts our specific communities. We’ll also focus on how to prevent and manage diabetes and support our loved ones who have diabetes. There will be FREE glucose screenings at the end and we will gladly connect people to our diabetes programming at Legacy.
*It’s estimated that 10% of people with diabetes are LGBT – which is around 2.5 million ppl and even more are at risk for pre diabetes.
More info about series: The workshops are a space for community learning, where we encourage discussions and asking questions and where we learn from each other as well as from the presenter(s)! Come learn how to become a greater advocate for your health! There is one main theme each month, and you can also request topics you’re interested in for future months.
*LHI + Legacy workshops are queer and trans centered/affirming, non-judgmental, and inclusive of all relationship dynamics.
