University of Houston Granted Custody of LGBT History Collection

University of Houston (UH) LGBT History Collection curator Vince Lee reads an AIDS Foundation Houston (AFH) annual report. The booklet is part of a four-box acquisition of non-client administrative archives which AFH deeded to the UH collection in August 2016. The acquisition was facilitated by UH lecturer Dr. Whitney Cox, who is researching the history of AIDS in Houston.

The archival material includes meeting agendas, annual reports, program proposals, bids for vendor services, fundraising gala planning notes and programs, training videos, public service announcements, news clippings, correspondence and much more. UH was pleased to be named permanent custodian of the materials, which are open to any interested individuals, in the Special Collections reading room in the M.D. Anderson Library. —Brandon Wolf
