‘Empire’

Set within a world of music, glamour, danger, and power, Empire is about a family dynasty that follows the dying head of a music empire (Terence Howard) whose three sons (one of whom, Jussie Smollett, is gay) and ex-wife (Taraji B. Henson) all battle for his throne. The smash hit is from openly gay Lee Daniels, among others, and one of the executive producers is Ilene Chaiken, the openly lesbian co-creator, writer, and executive producer of The L Word.
