Charity in Song: Featuring Company Members from The Book of Mormon
An evening benefiting AIDS Foundation Houston and BROADWAY CARES/Equity Fights AIDS
For the first time in Houston, members of The Book of Mormon performed a one-of-a-kind musical event at Numbers night club for a crowd of nearly 300 guests.
The event drew a crowd of nearly 300 Houstonians and with the help of special guest emcee Ernie Manouse raised $20,000 funds to benefit AIDS Foundation Houston and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Charity in Song was part of an ongoing series of performances by the touring company to support charitable causes. In two and a half years on the road, The Book of Mormon has raised over $1.8 million in donations for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and local AIDS service organizations. Produced by touring company members, the evening is an opportunity for them to step out of their roles in the musical and perform some of their favorite non-show related material.
