Bernardine Evaristo is the one writer you didn’t know you needed to know. Telling tales of the African diaspora, she creates characters, places, and situations that are a fictional telling of very real histories. Along with Mr. Loverman, we get to meet Barrington, who is, at age 74, trying to figure out how to be true to himself, honor the relationships that have supported his life, and determine what home really is.
