Gay & Lesbian Fund Closing Colorado Springs Office

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Gill Foundation is closing the Colorado Springs office of its Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado and laying off the nine employees there by the end of the year.

The Denver-based Gill Foundation, founded by Quark computer software program creator Tim Gill, operates the fund.

The Gazette reports the foundation can save $750,000 to $1 million a year by relocating the Gay & Lesbian Fund to its Denver offices.

The fund said Thursday it is embarking on a strategic re-evaluation of its giving.

Foundation President and CEO Tim Sweeney says the Gill Foundation will continue providing grant money for programs across the state and nation.
