HOPE, CM Wanda Adams, Premier Wireless and Sprint to Host Job Fair
The Houston Organization of Public Employees (HOPE), Council Member Wanda Adams, the City of Houston and Premier/Sprint Wireless worked collaboratively to assist laid off city of Houston employees by hosting a job fair.
Potential employees will assist in the deployment of the City’s new wireless devices. After this deployment, Premier Wireless is planning on opening a new retail location in downtown Houston and hopes to turn many of the temporary employment positions into permanent positions.
On the job fair, HOPE’s President, Melvin Hughes, stated, “Such partnerships with our city, elected leaders, and private industry are important to ensure that our city continues to move forward during the economic downturn; HOPE has suffered a great loss this year due to re-organization and our members are grateful to have been invited to a job fair that will help them return into the job market.”
There will be two job fairs taking place on Wednesday, September 7th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Premier Wireless located at 12220 Murphy Road and on September 14th Sprint will hold a Career Fair on Clay Road for the Houston Texas Market
The Houston Organization of Public Employees, or HOPE, is the municipal employees’ union in the city of Houston. HOPE strives to concurrently raise the standard of living for Houston’s city employees and ensure the highest quality public services for Houston’s residents, now and in the future.
