MIAMI – Pop culture blogger Perez Hilton is coming home to promote his new children’s book “The Boy with Pink Hair.”
Hilton will sign copies today at a celebrity cocktail at Miami Beach’s Eden Roc hotel.
The book tells the tale of a young boy teased for his flamboyant hair. Eventually, the boy comes to embrace the pink with the help of friends and family.
Hilton says he’ll donate some of the proceeds to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. The group seeks to create safe school environments for students regardless of their sexual orientation. But Hilton insists those who read the story only as a metaphor for being gay are missing the point. He says the story is about being ok with difference no matter what form that takes.
