2011 MTV Video Music Awards performer Lady Gaga to make VMA announcement and tease new VMA promo LIVE on MTV and Logo during MTV First: Lady Gaga

Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning and confirmed 2011 MTV Video Music Awards performer Lady Gaga will appear LIVE on Thursday, August 18, at 6:49 p.m. (central time) to make a VMA announcement and tease her new VMA promo simultaneously on MTV and Logo during MTV First: Lady Gaga. In addition, she will introduce her new music video “Yoü and I” for its television premiere and respond to feedback from fans with her and online. Immediately following the on-air portion, Gaga will stay on for an exclusive LIVE interview and interactive Q&A session with MTV News’ Sway Calloway on mtv.com. Fans can submit questions beginning today (Wednesday, August 17, 2011) through mtv.com and Twitter (using @MTVNews / hash-tag #MTVGAGA).

Lady Gaga’s new VMA promo premieres in its entirety later that night on MTV during Jersey Shore at 9 p.m. (central time).

Lady Gaga joins previously announced 2011 VMA performers, including Adele, Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and Young The Giant.  The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards air live from Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at 8 p.m. (central time). MTV will announce additional performers and presenters on a later date.

“Yoü and I” is the fourth single to be released from Lady Gaga’s third studio album, Born This Way. In addition to performing, Lady Gaga is nominated for four Moonmen at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, including Best Female Video (“Born This Way”), Best Art Direction (“Judas”), Best Choreography (“Judas”), and Best Video with a Message (“Born This Way”).
