DC Police Probe Attack on Transgendered Person

WASHINGTON – D.C. police are investigating whether an attack on a transgender person over the weekend is linked to last month’s fatal shooting of a transgender woman in the same area.

A statement released on Tuesday says the most recent attack happened early Sunday in the 6200 block of Dix Street in northeast. Police say the suspect asked for change, pulled a gun and fired without hitting the person.

On July 20, 23-year-old Myles McLean was fatally shot in the 6100 block of Dix Street.

Police say the cases are being investigated as a potential emerging pattern.
