White Linen Night In the Heights To Feature First Juried Art Exhibition

“Sultry, Steamy, Provocative Art”

The Houston Art and Culture Foundation is seeking artists to participate in the first juried exhibition of art work at the annual White Linen Night in the Heights.

Interested artists may visit Betz Gallery, 1208 W. Gray, Houston 77019 to complete an application form and pick up a 12 x 12 canvas. A $20 entry fee will be charged for the first canvas. Artists must then return to drop off their completed work no later than August 5. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Checks are to be made out to Houston Arts and Culture. Each artist may submit up to three pieces including previously completed work. If the artist wishes to submit a previously completed work, it must still fit on the canvas provided.

Lori Betz, owner of Betz Gallery, and Lindsay Peyton, owner of Cadence Enterprise, will serve as jurors for the exhibition and will award prizes for best in show.

“This is a great opportunity for local Houston artists to gain exposure to a variety of patrons who attend White Linen Night in the Heights,” Betz said.

Betz is also the founder of non-profit organization Houston Arts and Culture. “Our mission is to meet the goals and needs of Houston artists,” she said.

The work submitted will be featured in the White Linen Art Tent. Each piece will sell for $100 with 30 percent going to the Houston Arts and Culture Foundation and 70 percent to the artists.

White Linen Night is an annual community wide celebration in the Heights. It will be held August 6. The artist reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.

All work that is not purchased must be picked up on August 9 at Betz Gallery.
