Gays in Military a Topic in White House Interview

By KEN THOMAS

MINNEAPOLIS – A top White House spokesman faced tough questions at a conference of liberal bloggers and activists who have expressed disappointment with President Barack Obama’s first term.

White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer acknowledged “frustration with some of the decisions” by the White House. He said activists at the Netroots Nation conference were critical to Obama’s election in 2008.

In an interview on stage with the Daily Kos website, Pfeiffer was pressed on the Obama administration’s economic policies, implementation of the law repealing the ban on openly gay service members, and Obama’s decision to extend tax cuts advanced by President George W. Bush.
