Dedicated fans of Rosie O’Donnell—and they are legion—are in for a special treat: the gay-owned publisher Blue Water Productions (the same house that brought us Victoria’s Secret Service and Puppy Power: Bo Obama) has released a new graphic novel, Female Force: Rosie O’Donnell. Employing Mad magazine-ish illustrations, the 32-page comic relays her early motherless upbringing, her stint hosting The Rosie O’Donnell Show (the kooshball years), her short-lived magazine, and, of course, the stand-up career that spawned it all. Donald Trump, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and The View crew, Ellen DeGeneres, Madonna, antigay legislators who impeded gay parents’ rights, and other nemeses and advocates drop in for cameos.
