Registration Opens for Kindred Spirits Foundation’s 3rd Annual Golf Tournament

With their 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament? & Dinner, the women of Kindred Spirits Foundation provide a venue of entertainment beyond the fun on the golf course.

“Kindred Spirits Foundation’s 3rd Charity Golf Tournament and dinner is not your traditional golf tournament,” explained Lavita Marks, tournament co-chair and KSF board member. “It’s a full day of golf, fun, good food, and good friends for everyone—not just experienced golfers.”

KSF has adopted a beach theme for the tournament, and is providing players with beach-related prizes and giveaways, Marks said. “Some of our players spend time in the sand traps,” she laughed, “so the beach theme is a perfect fit!”

The tournament returns to Bear Creek Golf World, with play on the award-winning, 18-hole Presidents’ Course. The day ends with the traditional BBQ Awards Dinner where prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place, longest drive with a twist and closest to the pin, and the best decorated cart. The day also includes a silent auction and raffle.

Participants are encouraged to register in teams of four. Individual players can also participate, and will be assigned to a team. Entry fee for the “scramble format” tournament is $100 per individual and $400 per team, with “bogey as your friend” option and a shotgun start. Optional “bag of tricks” (mulligans), automatic birdie, and “Marion Drive” may also be purchased for an additional charge. Dinner-only tickets may be purchased for $20.

“Kindred Spirits Foundation Inc. is committed to keeping our tradition of having fun while raising funds for our beneficiaries: AssistHers, Houston Buyers Club, and Lesbian Health Initiative,” Marks concluded.

Sponsorship opportunities for the golf tournament, as well as other KSF events, are available. Please call 713/942-9690 for sponsorship information. April 30, 1:30 p.m., with the golf-cart decorating contest beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bear Creek Presidents Golf Course, 16001 Clay Rd. kindredspirits houston.org. —NANCY FORD
