One of Houston’s most enduring charitable events also provides the perfect way to spend a Sunday morning with thousands of like-minded friends. Each spring since 1989, individuals have gathered in the shadow of downtown Houston’s skyline to join in AIDS Foundation Houston’s annual AIDS Walk Houston.
Presented by Marathon Oil and produced by AIDS Foundation Houston, the walk raises funds for AFH and partner HIV/AIDS service organizations that are dedicated to helping improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by the disease.
On Sunday, March 13, the non-competitive walk steps off from Sam Houston Park and winds along picturesque Allen Parkway and Buffalo Bayou. In previous years, proceeds have topped $1 million, raised by as many as 15,000 walkers.
