Patrick Joseph Vachon, 54, died on May 16. Preceded in death by his parents, Victor Joseph Vachon and Mary Leone Hawkins Vachon, Patrick is survived by his partner, Jason Komar; children, Anton and Parker Komar-Vachon; and a host of family and friends. Born and raised in Southfield, Michigan, he obtained a master’s degree in psychology and was a social worker in Houston. His passion was his family, flowers and gardening, and was one of OutSmart’s first regular contributors. A funeral service was held May 23 in the chapel of Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Patrick’s memory may be made to their children’s education fund.
