Members of the organizing committee of the 2009 Kindred Spirits Celebration say the group’s annual dance is set for August 15, beginning at 7 p.m.
Previously held at the now-demolished Edwin R. Hornberger Conference Center, the dance takes place at Demers Russian Community Center, 8225 Cantrell Street, in southwest Houston.
Now in its eighth year, the celebration commemorates the 1980s-era nightclub for women and their friends, and benefits Assist-Hers, Bering Omega Community Services, Houston Buyers Club, and Lesbian Health Initiative-Houston. For more information, log on to kindredspiritshouston.org. – by Nancy Ford
